Ajda Iris de Feij born 1988 in The Hague (Slovenian roots)
I create paintings, media art, mixed media artworks and conceptual artworks.
With a subtle minimalistic approach, the results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted.
After my study in graphics and media I wanted a different path and worked in diverse branches but through a turbulent life I gained insight, experience and knowledge.
My background as a graphic designer can be most seen in my mixed media art. The education in ‘grafimedia’ was multi disciplined and is why I still work and combine different kind of art forms
With the urge to make or create, I learned creating is what comes naturally and I have a very strong visual sense.
With my paintings, I want to turn to the subconsciousness, capture emotion or strong attraction to the canvas.
By applying abstraction, I try to increase the dynamic between audience and author by objectifying emotions and investigating the duality that develops through different interpretations.
The brain will use personal experiences and emotions, what for a few moments can turn my work into a mirror.
Most creations come as an impulse, fascination, obsession, I won’t stop until it is completed.
